Adam Lambert: 'I have been invited by Queen' for Sonisphere show

Adam Lambert

The Adam Lambert and Queen news is finally official: He'll be on stage with the iconic band for one show this summer at a music festival north of London.

"As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!," the "American Idol" runner-up said late Monday on Twitter. "Sorry to be coy about the details the past few weeks, but I made a promise to keep it under wraps as best I could. Gonna be a surreal night!"

Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor confirmed Tuesday that the 30-year-old American singer-songwriter will perform vocals for the band's headline set on the second day of the Sonisphere 2012 rock festival. Freddie Mercury's final concert with the band was at Knebworth, in August 1986. He died in November 1991.

"Judging by my incoming mail," May said on the Sonisphere website, "this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It’s a worthy challenge for us, and I’m sure Adam would meet with Freddie's approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush."

Lambert's performance of Queen's "We Are the Champions" with eventual winner Kris Allen rocked the "Idol" finale back in 2009 -- that after Lambert had auditioned with "Bohemian Rhapsody."  Last November he sang an eight-minute set at the MTV Europe Awards to celebrate Queen's Global Icon Award.

The due date for Lambert's second album, "Trespassing," has been pushed back from its planned March 20 release. "Working on some new songs, making the album even better! Thank you all for understanding." he said Feb. 16.

Adam Lambert arrested for bar fight with boyfriend Sauli Koskinen

Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen were arrested in Finland

Adam Lambert and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen were arrested and jailed Wednesday night in Finland after brawling outside a bar in Helsinki, but Glammy on Thursday appeared to have only the slightest hangover anxiety over the incident.

"Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it," Lambert said on Twitter, capping that pithy explanation with a smiley face.

Getting released without being charged probably helped too. No need to wait for bail, then don the hoodie-and-sunglasses uniform of morning-after shame and slink around waiting for his publicist to kick into gear. Lambert had flown in from Shanghai on Monday afternoon.

Note that there's one "divided by" sign in there -- no doubt a reference to the fight that according to the Hollywood Reporter started in a back room at the DTM (Don't Tell Mama) gay bar and made its way outside.

The story gets better, mind you: A beauty queen was involved.

During the altercation, Lambert whacked a former Miss Helsinki, THR said. Sofia Ruusila, who'd been out celebrating with the boys, told a local entertainment channel she was accidentally hit by the singer when she tried to get between the two as they fought.

Koskinen, whom Lambert began dating in 2010, won the Finnish version of "Big Brother" in 2007, according to MTV News. Lambert took second place to Kris Allen on the eighth season of "American Idol," and is currently working on his second album.

Adam Lambert accused of battery by paparazzo [poll]

Adam-lambert-in-new-york "Eeew paparazzi killed my peaceful afternoon on the beach!," Adam Lambert tweeted Thursday. "#howisthisok?"

Lambert was later accused of simple battery by a paparazzo after the incident outside a South Beach hotel, the Miami Herald reports.

The glittery one responded with an apology to fans for the less-than-fabulous hat he was wearing in pictures of him, um, interacting with the photographer, calling it a "clearly failed" disguise attempt.

But about the pap's accusation? "Battery? Nope," the singer wrote. "I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground.... It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I'm guilty of." Adam's in Florida for shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Melbourne, St. Petersburg and Hollywood, Fla., respectively.

The police report, obtained by TMZ, states that no cuts or bruises were sustained by Victor Eras, who told cops that Lambert grabbed at his backpack as he ran away, then wrestled him to the ground.

A police spokesman told the Herald that the department will not press charges. It's up to the photographer, he said, to pursue that with the state attorney's office.

Adam Lambert's half-shaved head -- and a peek at him putting on his guyliner

Adam Lambert gave the world a look at an upcoming "Glam Nation" tour costume Wednesday night, tweeting out the photo shown above, then told fans who might freak out over the Twitter debut of his dramatically different hair, "Calm down ... Just shaved one side ... :)" And with that, he joins the long list of celebrities who've shaven off their heads.

Not enough Glambert style for you? Get a fix by watching the video below, in which the rocker gets his guyliner just right.

Lambert, who has a new music video out (click to watch it) for "If I Had You," was among the celebs who showed up for Logo TV's NewNowNext Awards, which taped June 13 and aired Thursday. Paula Abdul made the scene also, to collect her Always Next, Forever Now Icon Award.  Fans who don't have access to the niche network via their cable providers, or who missed the show, can see the entire show online.

Miley Cyrus gets naughty on British TV -- and we take the bait [poll]

Miley Cyrus is a naughty, naughty, naughty girl! Oh my, yes! Yes she is!

OK, not really, but that's what we felt like we were supposed to write after watching the video above.

Miley-cyrus-web The Anti-Hannah, it seems, went all Adam Lambert in front of a UK television audience Thursday night, wearing a Dark and Sexy Costume and howling a Dark and Sexy Rock Song and delivering a Dark and Same-Sexy Kiss.

(Well, almost a same-sex kiss -- she just faked it. Sort of pointed lips at another chick. Kind of like kissing the back of your hand when you make out with the other girls at the slumber party. Which apparently happens on some planet that exists only in the movies, yet we believe it to be truth nonetheless.)

This was all packaged in a not very dark or sexy guest performance of "Can't Be Tamed" on "Britain's Got Talent," the show that introduced the world to then-contestant Susan Boyle. Not that it was a bad performance -- what do we know from pop criticism, right? -- just not particularly dark or sexy.

And to think, we'd been spooked once before about the inherent dangers of Miley performing on live TV.

A wise person once said, find what works and then copy it -- but of course a wise person ...

Will Miley Cyrus mind her manners on 'DWTS'? [poll]

Miley-trio-web Miley Cyrus has been told to be herself, but not exactly herself, when she performs "Can't Be Tamed" Tuesday on "Dancing With the Stars," a source tells the Scoop.

Rehearsals have been fine, the source says, but the producers don't want any surprises when the show airs live, a la Adam Lambert's in-the-moment adjustments on the American Music Awards last year.

Hey, what could go wrong with "Can't Be Tamed"? Boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, for one, tells Hollywood Life he thinks Miley's new video is just great and that everybody's simply trying to bring her down.

But seriously, what could go wrong with "Can't Be Tamed," live, during family-viewing hours?

Adam Lambert wasn't lying about being a redhead ... [poll]

Lambert-suit A while back, the Ministry had a post about Adam Lambert appearing on Chelsea Handler's show and sharing with the group that he'd been a fat, closeted redhead growing up — a look that was long gone, he said, 'cause "Opie doesn't do rock 'n' roll."

Today, our friends over at Culture Monster present photographic evidence that Lambert wasn't exaggerating much at all. Click here to see for yourself.

Incidentally, Adam, we do think you were a bit hard on yourself in the weight department.

Nice suit though.

GLAAD Media Awards: Adam Lambert on stage, Wanda Sykes on Ellen DeGeneres and 'Glee' on prom kings

Glaad-split The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation held its annual Media Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday -- and, shock, "Glee" managed to win over the board! As did the comedic talents and recent coming out of funny lady Wanda Sykes, and the support of actress and director Drew Barrymore.

Sykes accepted the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, given to an out member of the entertainment industry who works to eliminate homophobia. It was presented to her by high school student Constance McMillan, whose prom was canceled after she asked to attend with her girlfriend.

"I really should give this award to you," Sykes told McMillan, "but I'm not gonna do it."

The host of "The Wanda Sykes Show" thanked her network for its, um, support.

"I want to thank the Fox network for allowing me to do the show I'm doing; it's like Rupert Murdoch buying back all the hate -- like I'm saving him from going to hell," Sykes said of the News Corp. chair.

Sykes also touched on her admiration of Ellen DeGeneres, revealing ...

Adam Lambert. Lasers. That same song. But cool.

As so many "American Idol" mentors do, Adam Lambert took the stage to perform on "his week's" results show.

Given the nature of pop music publicity, "Whataya Want From Me" is semi-officially the Song Adam Sings on Television for the last four or five months. But given the nature of Adam Lambert, he mixed it up and made it original.

No excuses -- the Ministry simply likes Glammy. So here's his performance from Wednesday night.
