Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are engaged -- and it’s on the record!

‘Yes, it’s confirmed,’ Pitt’s manager Cynthia Pett-Dante said Friday in a statement. ‘It is a promise for the future, and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time.’

Engagement talk spread like wildfire Friday morning after jeweler Robert Procop revealed that the sparkler Jolie was photographed wearing Wednesday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art was an engagement ring he’d designed over the course of a year in collaboration with Pitt.

‘I’m very happy for them,’ Jon Voight, Jolie’s father, told Us Weekly on Friday after the news broke.

The couple have six children: Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Knox and Viv, 3. Jolie said in the past that they would wed if the kids asked, and Pitt told CBS News in January: ‘We’re getting a lot of pressure from the kids.

‘Yeah, it means something to them, and they’re, you know, they have questions when their friends’ parents are married and, why is that?’

Jeweler Procop, who carries a Style of Jolie line that was designed in collaboration with the actress, described the results of the collaboration with Pitt to the Hollywood Reporter, which first reported the news Friday.

‘Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution,’ Procop told THR. ‘The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.’

Jolie, 36, and Pitt, 48, have been together since 2005, after working together on the movie ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith.’
