Kanye West: Picking up where Steve Jobs left off -- only better?
Kanye West has a lot of ideas. So many ideas, in fact, that they should be shared with the public somewhere other than Twitter. But that's where West chose to chat about Donda, his new design company, on Wednesday night. In 140-character increments. For three hours.
West started off talking about his love of fashion design, something he's been passionate about since he was a boy getting in trouble for drawing Nikes in class. Now he's had his fashions on display on the runways of Paris. But he's getting more ambitious.
How ambitious? Really ambitious.
"DONDA is a design company which will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce there dreams and ideas...," West wrote. "I am assembling a team of architects, graphic designers, directors musicians, producers, AnRs, writers, publicist, social media experts... app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionist ... doctors, scientist,teachers...."
He continued: "DONDA will be comprised of over 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford... We want to help simplify and aesthetically improve everything we see hear, touch, taste and feel."
West said the company is already working on a seven-screen experience called "Olympics 2016," which he calls a "semi sci-fi," since 2016 is right around the corner. He also expressed his desire to be the designer of a "Jetsons" movie and to design the MTV Awards (you know, the awards show where he stomped on Taylor Swift's acceptance speech).
And lest you think West's ambitions are limited to the entertainment and consumer marketplace, think again! His design plans extend even into the American education system: "Help education. School systems were designed to turn people into factory workers. Schools should be designed to prep human beings for real life. Spike Jonze and I want to do a Summer school that tries new forms of cuuriculim. [sic] Math classes should teach addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, accounting and money management aaaaaand cut!!! .... UNLESS YOU'RE A MATH MAJOR!!!! Kids you should be able to take majors starting in grammar school like how it is at performing art schools. Instead of kicking kids out of schools for using there iPhones... why not promote it? Allow kids to use search engines to do test... like the real WORLD!!! Give kids the amount of test they would have in a year in one day but they have to get everything perfect..."
West said he wants to "pick up where Steve Jobs left off" and fix so many broken systems, from the economy to the educational system and the jail system.

First "The Jetsons," then, the world!
