Melissa McCarthy revels 'in the moment' at the Globes

January 15, 2012 |  4:26 pm

Melissa McCarthy is nominated for "Bridesmaids."

This post has been corrected. See the note below for details.

"Melissa!" -- as in, Melissa McCarthy -- was one name called out on the Golden Globes' red carpet more than most on Sunday.

As the oft-dubbed "new queen of comedy," the actress was in high demand among red-carpet interviewers and looked appropriately regal in her emerald green gown.

"It's so surreal," the "Bridesmaids" actress told reporters of the frenzy around the film and awards season. "I'm just trying to be in the moment."

[For the record, 10 a.m. Jan. 16: An earlier version of this post said McCarthy was nominated in the television supporting actress category. She was not.]
