Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s marriage might not be completely terminated, according to one report.

The couple, who filed for divorce in July surrounding a messy infidelity-and-love-child scandal on Arnold’s part, could get a second chance thanks to Shriver’s religious beliefs.

Shriver’s Catholicism forbids divorce, so Maria is second-guessing the split, a TMZ source said Monday. The report also alleges that the former governor of California ‘desperately’ wants his bride back and has been wooing her with gifts.

The pair spent the Christmas holiday together with their children, People said, attending the Los Angeles Lakers’ season opener at Staples Center along with stars including Kanye West, Megan Fox, Lil Wayne and Adam Levine.

But don’t get your hopes up just yet: Despite the nature of their breakup, Shriver has been mature about seeing Arnold for the family’s sake. She helped celebrate Schwarzenegger’s 64th birthday only weeks after filing for divorce.

Reconciliation would prove an interesting road for the pair. What say you about their marital status? Tell us in comments.
