Fantasia Barrino has a baby son, Dallas Xavier

Fantasia Barrino reportedly welcomed baby Dallas Xavier, her second child and first son, Tuesday at a North Carolina hospital.

Dallas logged in at 7 pounds, 9 ounces and 21 inches, the singer’s rep confirmed to People. Radar Online had reported Monday that she’d gone into labor.

Fantasia, who was due Dec. 29, told TV host Wendy Williams in October that she was home on bed rest.

‘I feel so blessed that my son, Dallas Xavier, was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,’ the 27-year-old told People through a rep.

Though Fantasia has been mum about the identity of Dallas’ dad, she has been linked on and off to Antwaun Cook, who has been separated from his wife, Paula, since September 2009. The singer and the former T-Mobile employee reportedly met in August of that year.

The winner of the third season of ‘American Idol’ attempted suicide in August 2010 after Paula Cook named her in an alienation-of-affection lawsuit (read that as, ‘I’m calling you a home wrecker’). The suicide attempt was caught on camera for her reality TV show, ‘Fantasia for Real,’ as was a conversation that same month during which she told Antwaun she wasn’t sure she was going to see him again.

In November 2010 Fantasia testified in family court about her relationship with Cook; this August she announced she was pregnant, delivering the news to a concert audience while she was onstage.

The singer’s daughter, Zion, is 10. If Cook is Dallas’ father, the boy would be his third child, and his first with Fantasia.
