Can someone hold Reese Witherspoon’s keys and lip gloss ‘n’ stuff? She ditched her purse.

The Oscar winner retired a python handbag by French house Chloé, worth roughly $2,000, after People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals pleaded with her to hang it up.

After Paparazzi photos showed Witherspoon rocking the bag, called the Paraty, the controversial group reportedly rushed her a video testimonial of the cruelty done to snakes in the name of fashion.

Ironically, said video was narrated by her ‘Walk The Line’ costar Joaquin Phoneix. Afterward, Witherspoon contacted the group and assured them she’d bench the bag, Gossip Cop confirmed.

‘We’ve long known Reese to be a kind person, so we’re pleased — and not surprised — that she is hanging up her python bag for good,’ a VP for the animal-rights group said in a statement.

A happy enough ending for all involved, except perhaps that particular python, but where and how Witherspoon got the pricey accessory remains a mystery: California banned the sale of snakeskin in 1970.
