Chris Hemsworth, the burly action star of ‘Thor’ fame, is a Londoner for the time being as he shoots the forthcoming ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ costarring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

A future museum venue and a fresh suit got him away from work Thursday night to attend a celebration for Calvin Klein Collection at the future home of the Design Museum London: the former Commonwealth Institute in London’s Kensington district. The 1960s building, in danger since 2001, will triple the museum’s space. Design Museum London is scheduled to open in its new home in 2014.

Showing off darker locks (he was bleached blond in ‘Thor’), Hemsworth was joined by actors Rosario Dawson and Freida Pinto and supermodel Elle Macpherson.

Getting chummy with CK men’s creative director Italo Zucchelli, Chris chowed down with the fashion folks, enjoying a live violin performance before dinner and live music by British indie band the New Look afterward.

‘Huntsman’ costars Stewart and Theron in a darker retelling of the classic. Hemsworth, hitched to actress Elsa Pataky, will move on to ‘Thor 2’ next year under the direction of Theron’s old ‘Monster’ pal, Patty Jenkins. He also plays Thor in ‘The Avengers,’ to be released in May.
