Leisha Hailey, the musician and ‘The L Word’ actress, was kicked off a Southwest flight after kissing her girlfriend, she said Monday on Twitter. ‘We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue.’

‘So we’ve joined the ranks alongside @BJAofficial and @ThatKevinSmith for being kicked off an @SouthwestAir flight, this time for being gay,’ said a message Monday on the @UhHuhHerMusic Twitter feed. (Hailey, a member of the group Uh Huh Her, worked on Showtime’s ‘The L Word’ from 2004 to 2009.)

‘We didn’t know intolerance and discrimination for slouchy pants, being overweight or being gay was part of your family values,’ @UhHuhHerMusic continued.

Southwest responds to Leisha Hailey: ‘Behavior and not gender’

In an online response to the original @UhHuhHerMusic tweet, a Southwest rep said via Twitter, ‘I’m so sorry! Can you please follow/DM [direct message] me more details so we can get to the bottom of this? Thanks!’ Direct messages on Twitter are private; no public messages between the parties had gone up by 2 p.m. PST, though Southwest, whose reps were in an all-day off-site meeting Monday, had a response in the works.

Kevin Smith was escorted off a Southwest jet in February 2010, supposedly for being too large for a single seat. Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, a.k.a. @BJAofficial, got the boot earlier this month for wearing pants deemed to be too saggy.

Hailey continued on her own feed, saying over the course of several tweets: ‘This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by @SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline. We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. @SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable.’

‘Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers as ‘family.’ ‘ She continued: ‘I know plenty of wonderful same sex families I would like to introduce them to. Boycott @SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don’t like us.’

Hailey did fire one more shot at the airline around 1 p.m., which she requested her followers to retweet: ‘Did I mention to @SouthwestAir that I have a lot of their actions recorded on audio and video?’ The message also included a call to boycott the airline.
