Tyra Banks never ceases to surprise us. Last year, the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ host turned heads when she decided to enter an elite Harvard Business School program. And at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, she talked up the new young-adult novel she’s written.

And it sounds, uh, interesting.

The book, ‘Modelland,’ will be published in September and is about a world where models — called ‘Intoxibellas’ — are the only famous people around.

‘Four girls make it into Modelland that are not supposed to be there that are quirky-looking,’ the former Victoria’s Secret pinup explained on the red carpet. ‘Those four girls are running for their lives because Modelland is rumored to also bring civilian girls to the school to torture them and bathe in their blood.’

Follow that?

Banks said she came up with the out-there idea for the novel, which she says will be the first in the series, while driving on FDR Drive in New York. But is she worried that her celebrity status will prevent her from being taken seriously as an author?

I question when ‘celebrities’ write books,’ she admitted. ‘But I don’t consider myself a celebrity. I consider myself a businesswoman. I’m in business school. I’m a producer and a creator and a storyteller, so it’s a little bit different than being an actress and being like, ‘I wrote a book!’ ‘
