Nicki Minaj tunes in Tokyo with her MTV VMAs ensemble

Nicky Minaj didn’t disappoint with the dress -- and the whole lot more -- that she wore to the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

‘Tokyo inspires this outfit,’ the winner for hip-hop video said backstage Sunday. ‘You know, Harajuku is something I have been absorbing for a very long time.’

(Harajuku is, of course, Tokyo street style, in case anyone was wondering if the term was Japanese for ‘Dr. Seuss.’)
