Jennifer Lopez opens up about Marc Anthony split -- and love
Jennifer Lopez is speaking out about her pending divorce from Marc Anthony and, in typical J. Lo fashion, the cathartic chat shows her major marketing prowess. Oh, and a possible multimillion-dollar raise from the folks at "American Idol."
With a new magazine cover and possible return to the singing competition, Lopez is back in form as the empowered female who built herself into a global brand -- and she's not bitter, as she tells it.
"Sometimes it doesn’t work -- and that’s sad. But I remain an eternal optimist about love. I believe in love," Lopez told Vanity Fair about her surprising split with Anthony.
"It's still my biggest dream. I am positive -- determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person," she said. "I now look forward to new challenges, Lopez said. I feel strong."
Her bank account seems rock solid too: Lopez will is rumored to be returning for a second season judging "American Idol," to the tune of $20 million. The singer and actress has yet to sign on the dotted line, according to the Wrap, due to scheduling around film work. Fox did not respond to a request for comment.
Lopez was married twice before tying the knot with Anthony, and famously engaged to actor Ben Affleck before breaking that off. While she doesn't name names, one insight points to trouble in paradise with her Latin-crooner soon-to-be ex.
"Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves," she said.
"To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself ... I love myself enough to walk away from that now," she said.
