Salma Hayek’s husband named as father of Linda Evangelista’s son

Salma Hayek and Linda Evangelista have some baby mama drama going on: Hayek’s husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, is the father of Evangelista’s 4-year-old son, according to a New York Post report citing family-court documents.

So what’s the big deal? Evangelista, 46, hasn’t publicly identified the father of her son, Augustin James, and in 2007 denied rumors that Pinault was the dad. Meanwhile, Hayek and Pinault have a 4-year-old daughter together, Valentina.

Although none of the parties is openly discussing the paternity of Evangelista’s boy, the Post reported that the supermodel has been to family court three or four times and returned Thursday to work out a support agreement with Pinault, who did not show. (The no-show was the result of a misunderstanding, his lawyer told the Post.)

Those support checks might become a reality because, according to the Post and a People source, Pinault’s paternity has been confirmed. The deal isn’t done yet, but People estimated that $920,000 per year would be in keeping with New York state law.

‘In the filing, it says the child ‘was born out of wedlock to [petitioner] Linda Evangelista, 46, and that [Pinault] acknowledged [her] allegation,’ ‘ said the source. ‘It says, ‘It is decided that Pinault is the father of [Evangelista’s son], Augustin James.’ ‘

Pinault, a 49-year-old French billionaire, is chief executive of the company that owns Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Yves St. Laurent.

So if Pinault is the father, is he also a cheater? Not necessarily. Basic math indicates that Evangelista conceived her son in early 2006, while Pinault and Hayek were on a break. Hayek, 44, did not get pregnant until much later that year, and the two did not wed until 2009.

Now, whether Hayek knew that the child existed -- that’s another story.
