'Harry Potter' fans camp in Trafalgar Square for 'Deathly Hallows -- Part 2' premiere [Pictures]
Judging by pictures coming in of Harry Potter fans setting up shop in Trafalgar Square ahead of the world premiere of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2" -- well, let's just say those "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" fans have some serious competition. And in L.A. last June outside Staples Center, it wasn't even raining.
Hard-core Potterites began showing up Monday in anticipation of the Thursday world premiere of the final installment in the franchise, which opens in U.S. theaters on July 15. Stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint will be on hand in central London to launch the movie, and fans are hoping to catch a glimpse, snap a photo or perhaps snag an autograph off the red carpet.
"We've grown up in the Harry Potter generation," said Rhys Bowen Jones, 18, speaking with Reuters. "I read the first book when I was five so now it's weird that it's coming to an end ... like the end of childhood." Bowen Jones was in London from Wales.
Added Lucy Nee, also 18: "I can't remember a time when there hasn't been a book or film to look forward to. It's a nice coincidence that Harry finishes school at the same time as me; it feels like we've grown up together."
Trafalgar Square has been shut down for the premiere of "Deathly Hallows -- Part 2," the first Harry Potter film to come out in 3-D.
Check back with the Ministry of Gossip in a bit for more pictures of the "Harry Potter" scene in Trafalgar Square.
