Reese Witherspoon celebrates good girls — the ones without sex tapes or naked pictures [Video]
Reese Witherspoon made a case for all the good girls on Sunday, scooping up the high-profile Generation Award trophy at the MTV Movie Awards.
Reflecting on her body of work, Witherspoon had some insights about the state of fame and, specifically, famous females in her industry.
"I know it's cool to be bad, I get it — but it's also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show," the actress said to thunderous applause.
"When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed. You hid it under your bed," she said. "If you took naked pictures of yourself on your cellphone, you hide your face."
Some took the comments as a dig at Blake Lively, who was recently embroiled in a nudie picture scandal. Regardless, Witherspoon's comments impressed the Ministry, serving as a healthy reminder that some of the luminaries we cover empower themselves as role models instead of camera-phone models.
