Brad Pitt is stepping up to the plate in the new baseball drama "Moneyball."
The diamond-set flick is based on the true story of Billy Beane, the manager who successfully revived the Oakland A's baseball franchise on a dime.
While Pitt's recent "Tree of Life" delivers uber-dense dramatic fare, this testosterone-fueled exercise in sports triumph should properly align the actor with the audience that knows him best.
Look for cute cameos from Jonah Hill and a flash of Philip Seymour Hoffman.
