As countless superstars paid tribute to Oprah Winfrey on Monday, trumpeting the close of her 25 years on the air, Beyonce stood out with a powerful message of female solidarity.

Beyonce and Madonna celebrate Oprah Winfrey Actress Dakota Fanning took her place before Winfrey at her third-to-last show, pre-taped at Chicago's United Center, introducing Mrs. Jay-Z to belt out her single "Run the World (Girls)."

With legs-till-Tuesday and a fitted tuxedo unitard, Beyonce flipped her hair and passed out diplomas to female backup dancers, encouraging the audience to throw their hands up in celebration of Oprah's advancement of women everywhere.

"Oprah, your persuasion," Beyonce shouted, "can build a nation."

Standing beside Tom Cruise, Winfrey marveled at the massive venue cheering on girls ... who run the world. Check out the clip above.
