Kim Kardashian engaged to NBA star Kris Humphries; Kardashian family reacts

Kim Kardashian is engaged to Kris Humphries after six months of dating and quite a bit of PDA. Exciting as the news is, the real shocker is that the reality star kept her megawatt engagement ring hidden for a week.
The New Jersey Nets star asked the reality TV gal to marry him by surprising her at her Beverly Hills home on May 18, People reports. He covered her bedroom with rose petals spelling out ‘Will you marry Me?’ sealing the deal with a custom-made 20.5 carat Lorraine Schwartz ring. (A stunner that rivals the size of her famed backside.)
Humphries was in cahoots with Kardashian’s mom/manager Kris Jenner, who threw the couple an intimate celebration at home after the proposal.
‘I didn’t expect this at all,’ Kardashian told the mag. ‘I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.’
But Kardashian, 30, and Humphries, 26, seemed to be priming fans for a big announcement for weeks, exchanging lovey dovey messages on Twitter and telling the media how great their families were getting along. They were recently spotted shopping for engagement rings and she was photographed frequently at his basketball games. E! also announced that he’d be featured on the next season on ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians.’
In January, she met his parents after only a few months of dating and he seemed to be the reason the curvy California girl decided to extend her stay in the Big Apple after wrapping ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York.’ All along the way, she reiterated how she didn’t like dating, wanted to settle down and was jealous that her sisters Khloe and Kourtney had already gotten hitched or started families. So an engagement almost seemed imminent.
‘OMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!! It’s true! I couldn’t be happier!’ Kardashian wrote on her blog, also confirming the annoucement on Twitter. ‘Thank you guys for all of the sweet messages!!!
The rest of the Kardashian clan was quick to offer their congrats soon after the engagement news. ‘You have no idea how happy it makes me to be able to say this… KIM IS ENGAGED!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! It feels soooo good to finally let the secret out.’ her younger sister Khloe Kardashian, 26, wrote on her blog.
‘I can’t even begin to fathom the phenomenal wedding you are going to have! Ahhhhhhh I am getting even more excited as I write this! Just in case you have the urge to throw a wedding together in 30 days let me know, I’m really good at putting together a quick, fabulous wedding LOL.’
After a whirlwind romance, she married Lakers baller Lamar Odom in 2009. He gave her a nine-carat engagement ring, which now pales in comparison to her sister’s gargantuan dazzler worth about $2 million, according to TMZ.
‘Kimmie the love u have is infectious and I love every second of this!!! I LOVE that you r engaged!!! I love that you are so happy! … You deserve this happiness! Get excited baby!!!!! We r about2 celebrate!! :) Kris welcome 2the fam! Just so u know, u married all of us all!’ Khloe added.
‘Take New York’ co-star and big sis Kourtney Kardashian, who initially found out the two began dating from Perez Hilton, also congratulated her sister on her upcoming nuptials.
‘My sister is engaged!!! I’m squealing with excitement! The princess has found her prince. I am so happy because @KimKardashian is happy!’ she wrote.
However, with a family as big as the Kardashians, news has to travel far and wide. Kardashian step-bro Brody Jenner, son of Bruce Jenner and ex-wife Linda Thompson, seemed to be behind the times, learning of the announcement from the mag like everyone else and calling out his step-sister for not filling him in sooner.
‘My sister is engaged? Hahaha I had no idea!!.. Crazy being in such a big family.. Congrats @Kimkardashian love you. Let’s celebrate soon,’ he tweeted.
