Rebecca Black: Police investigating 'Friday' death threats

Rebecca Black has gotten death threats Rebecca Black has received death threats: Take "Friday" off the Web or face the consequences. Who knew bad music could be so dangerous? At any rate, police are on the case.

Anaheim police are looking into a menacing call to Black's management company and an email to her production company, both received in March.

"In essence, the threats were related to getting the music off the Internet or they were going to kill her," Anaheim police spokesman Sgt. Rick Martinez told KCBS. "We can't validate how serious they are, but we do take it seriously."

Black, 13, shot to fame in February with her YouTube upload of "Friday," the infamous tune dubbed by some as the "worst song in history." The video, with more than 111 million views, was shot by Ark Music Factory as part of a $2,000 package paid for by Black's mother.

Despite the parodies and threats, things are looking pretty good for Black. In fact, she now has something in common with the likes of Madonna and Lady Gaga: The guys from "Glee" will cover "Friday" in an upcoming episode.

This is getting ridiculous. It’s not her fault that the song is bad; Ark Music, the producers, are the blame for that. Why take it out on a kid? She’s just a 13 year-old girl that just wanted to do something fun. What teenage kid wouldn’t want to star in her own music video? You don’t like the song, don’t listen to it. No need for death threats.

This song is killing us, que no?

I totally agree with TwinTiger. I just can't believe how mean people are to this poor girl - I'll be surprised if she hasn't had thoughts about suicide or anything like that.

this song is horrible how do people listen to this her voice is annoying if shes famous she be'll another diaster like justin bieber.

her voice is so annoying take it offline.

GOSH!!! Why can't people just leave her alone?! She may have a suckish voice, but its not HER fault. its the company. ._. Rebecca just wanted to make a video. period. Im not a huge fan of her, but shes pretty cool, so im not judging.

People are so messed up. This poor girl has become the scapegoat for thousands of pathetic souls looking for an outlet for their 9-to-5 frustrations and daily rage, and prepubescent losers looking for a punching bag.

And no, it's not about "it's Ark Music Factory's fault!" So you're saying that Ark should get death threats? This song is no more banal than Miley Cyrus or anything on Radio Disney. And no one forced anyone to listen to it.

No one here has said she deserves to be threatened nor do I think people blame her entirely for the poor quality of the song.

However, she does have a poor voice that even after massive auto tune could not correct. I mean no disrespect for her on a personal level but just because your mother has the cash does not mean you should try to boost your way to stardom on $ alone and no talent.

A true artist would have recognized the lyrics for what they were and refused to sing it and asked for a complete re-write or better yet written a song themselves. The fact that she failed to notice the flop of a song proves yet again that she has no talent for singing or the ability to recognize good content.

As a person she has my sympathy and I hope everything turns out for her but as a artist she is rated a 0 out of 10 considering the only thing she did is throw money at a production company and sing off key for them to change it later.

it was me!!
