Kim Kardashian upset she's on Turkish Cosmo cover
Kim Kardashian is upset over yet another magazine cover: This time the half-Armenian reality television starlet is upset that an image of her from an international photo shoot appears on the cover of the April issue of Cosmopolitan in Turkey.
The problem: The photo, reportedly used without Kardashian's OK, appears on the Turkish mag's cover during the same month many commemorate the Armenian genocide that took place from 1915 to 1918.
"When I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month," the fourth-generation Armenian American wrote on her blog Monday, directing the spotlight instead to the Armenian Cosmo cover, which features an image of Kardashian from the same shoot.
"My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover."
She added: "I have an amazing relationship with Cosmopolitan Magazine. World-over, Cosmo is known as a fun and inspiring magazine for women of all races, shapes, sizes, regardless of their political beliefs and I really hope that if I can bring awareness to the issue, then this in an accomplishment."
About 1.2 million Armenians were slain under the Ottoman Empire, which became the modern republic of Turkey. The Turkish government disputes that a genocide took place, saying instead that the killings were a crackdown on treason and political dissent, not an ethnic group. Armenia's Genocide Remembrance Day, a national holiday in that country, is April 24.
"Kim Kardashian is one of our favorite cover girls. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph her for the Cosmopolitan editions worldwide," Cosmo reps told TMZ.
The recent outrage comes on the heels of Kardashian's love-hate relationship with nude photos taken of her for a W magazine spread.
"This one just slipped through the cracks," the source added. "I can't imagine that they would have done this on purpose. Kim has a really great relationship with Cosmo."
Ordinarily, she's given copies of the covers to approve, but this photo was mistakenly submitted. Seems odd that the magazine would have gone forward with the image in Turkey given the timing without checking with Kardashian's camp first.
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant — a Lakers teammate of Lamar Odom, a.k.a Mr. Khloe Kardashian — is starring in commercials for Turkish Airlines. Lawyer Mark Geragos, an outspoken advocate for the Armenian community in Los Angeles, told TMZ on Monday that those ads, along with Kim on the Cosmo cover, seem to be part of a Turkish campaign to co-opt L.A. icons.

She should fire her lawyers, her agents, and publicists.

Wow . . . I had no idea she was so hard-core about her background like that. It's kinda nice to see because people make the Kardashians out to be complete and utter flakes.

I am not interested in this woman. She has exposed every inch of her body to the world and should not complain when her photo is used. Her mother has pimped her and her sisters to the world for money. They got what they wanted. Quit complaining.

Why don't you just shut the hell up ! You make millions by doing absolutely NOTHING and still you flap your lips. You agreed to do the photo shoot. If they decide to put your no talet, surgically imposed body image on the cover, then they have the right to.

She is so non essential as Ododoboy say's. She does a cover or shoot and everything she cries about. She is only into one person, HERSELF. Stop enough of these ingrates.

I guess I don't get it. Wouldn't this actually be a good thing? To have a celeb. of Armenian Descent on the cover the same month as Genocide Rememberance may actually just highlight the issue. Kind of like having oh, I don't know a black person on the cover of a mag. during Black History month.

I wonder if she even knew Turkey was a Country until somebody told her the day before this comment.

While she's at it, why doesn't she pull her Keeping up with the Kardashians program from Turkish channels as well? She got her cover and her money so now she wants to whine and get even more attention. Yuck! (Don't you hate it when fluffy celebreties act as if people should care what's going on in their pea-sized brains?)

I am tired of hearing about people calling themselves "Irish-american,Italian-american,ect. If you were born here you are an American period! If you insist on labeling yourself than you are an American of Irish decent, Italian decent or whatever. If your more proud of your ancestors roots than you are of your own then go back to the "old country" call yourself an American-Irish,italian,african or whatever.

I really enjoy the reality show, and Kim Kardashians business train of thought. Kim Kardashian cares what people think, because she knows her decisions will effect her business(Dash), the image of her family, and of course herself. In business school this is key to having success in the business world, along with some other great habits you must live.
Go Team Kardashian.

As a half Armenian myself, I am truly proud of her love for her heritage. Also proud of her consideration of the Armenian Genocide and being upset about the Turkish Cosmo. You go Kim!!

I'm so sick of hearing about Kim and her outrage over magazine covers! She always claims she "didn't know" or "wasn't aware" of this or that. Perhaps she should do more research before she puts herself on any old cover. She's only after fame and publicity...not all attention is good attention, Kim.

Like Cosmo-Turkey didn't know that Kardipshian is (half) Armenian? Lke Team Kardipshian had no idea that Cosmo-Turkey would use Kim's photo? "slipped through the cracks"? Spare us!

I THINK KIM AND ALL THE KARDASHIANS ARE AN AWESOME FAMILY. ALOT OF PEOPLE TALK BAD OF THEM AND OR LOOK DOWN ON THEM, BUT WE ONLY KNOW WHAT THE THEY WANT US TO KNOW AND WHAT TV TELLS US..

If you are so upset....donate the money you made from
the cover...to the cause.

You expect anyone at Cosmopolitan to know what the Young Turks did to the Armenians? and to make it worst, it had to be the April issue.

I stopped subscribing to US WEEKLY because of too much Kardashian pics. This one is another one to not subscribe to then.

I'm not Armenian but I know why she's mad. It's good she did that because it forces the issue. It's not just because of her beliefs, but because the Turkish government refuses to acknowledge what happened. I didn't really like her before but now I respect her on this issue.

why pose for pictures if you don't ever like where they are going to be published - stop the insanity and keep your face off from everything that is printed!

So sick of this girl and her family, get OVER yourself already. I wish they would just GO AWAY and fade off into the darkness.

Kim never knows anything. She always "unaware". Yet she knows how to slip in bed with every man available. She knows nothing about the Armenian language, the food, culture, etc. but she's got everyone believing she is so proud of it. I'm sure when she collects the paycheck at the end of the day she could really care less about that magazine and it's distribution of it.
