'Desperate Housewives' contract drama almost over; payday looms

Desperate Housewives cast in final negotiations for seasons 8 and 9 It would seem the principal cast of "Desperate Housewives" -- Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman -- will have no problem paying their mortgages on Wisteria Lane.

Locked in contract negotiations since January, the actresses and network ABC have delayed the announcement of an eighth season for the prime-time soap. But they've cleared the way for a renewal, TV Line reports.

Both sides have reportedly agreed on handsome per-episode rates for the ladies for Season 8, with an option to extend for a ninth season.

Each of the women will earn up to $375,000 per episode, a figure padded with back-end cash and bonuses, TV Line reports.

The report also noted that Hatcher brokered her deal separately from the other three stars, consistent with the history of the show.

this is what we call garbage television.

The women on the show are so entertaining and I love Vanessa Williams and I know she is only adding to the mix. When the writers spice up the drama, they know exactly who to cast. My cousin is getting married soon so I've been on the go a lot but I've made a promise to never miss a show. On Sunday before the episode airs, I start tuning into ABC from my phone using the DISH Remote Access app. My Sling Adapter is connected up to my DVR so I can watch it live, or let it record a little then watch it. I haven't had any complaints about it and it's definitely become a convenience factor for me. I am always recommending that people check out DISH Network and experience a value unseen by any other provider!

but it's fun garbage television, que no?
