'Red Riding Hood' movie premiere: Amanda Seyfried, Catherine Hardwicke, Gary Oldman and the 'Idol' Top 13
OK, so it's "Little Red Riding Hood," only now the wolf is a werewolf, and Red, well -- she's not so little anymore, though she's definitely sexy. And the name is Valerie, thankyouverymuch. The woodsman? Make him an age-appropriate, orphaned love interest. Now mix in mysterious deaths timed to the cycles of the moon and, voila, you have "Red Riding Hood," circa 2011.
Amanda Seyfried and some of her co-stars in the Brothers-Grimm-meets-"Twilight"-generation drama rode a little red carpet Monday in Hollywood, joined by director Catherine Hardwicke who helmed the original "Twilight" installment back in 2008.
The werewolf-hunting Gary Oldman turned up with wife Alexandra Edenborough, facing the cameras along with fellow cast members Shiloh Fernandez (Red's crush), Max Irons (Red's parents' crush), Virginia Madsen, Adrian Holmes and Kacey Rohl.
Also spotted: Josh Brolin and Diane Lane, "The Twilight Saga" veteran Nikki Reed, Thomas Dekker of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," songwriter Diane Warren, Billy Zane, Rachel Fox, Lance Bass, Rebecca De Mornay and Emily Browning, soon to star in a sexed-up version of "Sleeping Beauty." Plus the appearance of the "American Idol" Top 13 contestants suggests we might see some scenes from the red carpet on this week's shows.
