To Elizabeth Taylor, White Diamonds last forever [Video]

Elizabeth Taylor made fewer movies as she advanced in years, but this commercial for her fragrance White Diamonds, perhaps one of the pioneers in scents launched by celebrities, has stuck with us.

The fragrance, launched in 1991, remains one of the best selling celebrity scents to date, grossing $61.3 million globally in 2010, according to Euromonitor. Combined with her other fragrances Black Pear and Passion, Taylor's aroma empire grossed $76.9 million last year.

Because of Miss Taylor and this commercial, this Ministry writer just might have wanted to set down a diamond earring to up the ante during a poker game a time or two.

Chalk it up to the black and white? The cinematic qualities of old Hollywood glamour? The wayward airplanes? Or the the feel of Humphrey Bogart's "Casablanca"? We're not really sure, but this iconic commercial for Taylor's fragrance is likely to last forever.
