Carrie Ann Inaba engaged to boyfriend Jesse Sloan thanks to Regis Philbin

Carrie Ann Inaba is engaged -- boyfriend Jesse Sloan surprised the "Dancing With the Stars" judge while she was filling in for Kelly Ripa with Regis Philbin on "Live With Regis and Kelly" Thursday.

Talk about romantic proposals.

Sloan set up the whole thing with Philbin, who began the segment reading a letter from a man seeking advice on how to propose to his girlfriend. Watch the full proposal above.

Leave it to Rege to set the mood -- dim the lights, play romantic music and pull out a bouquet of flowers -- all the while broadcasting live to America.

Inaba, not catching on until her boyfriend appeared onstage, began crying when he professed his love to her: "I struggle to find the words to express what you mean to me. You're an inspiration. You're everything to me. Will you marry me?"

Um, yes. Though if she said no, she'd probably be more loathed than co-"Dancing" judge Len Goodman.

Our favorite part is Philbin saying, "Whoa!" when Sloan pulled out the ring.

The happy couple kissed and was later congratulated onstage by Howie Mandel and Jake Gyllenhaal, who snapped photos with them and Philbin.

I thought it was sweet, but chuckled a little to see Regis so close to Carrie Ann trying to hear her boyfriend pledge his love to her. He was right in there. He should've maybe stepped back for that moment.
