Beyonce‘s father Matthew Knowles has managed his little girl’s rising star since her Destiny’s Child days -- but it seems she’s a woman now. The pair are parting ways professionally, and Matthew will no longer serve as her music manager.

‘I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level,’ the actress and singer told Us weekly, ‘He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.’

Knowles himself is confident in the wisdom he passed down, calling her a ‘very, very smart business woman.’

Beyonce has yet to choose new management, but has an arsenal of capable folks at her disposal. It doesn’t hurt that her husband Jay-Z is arguably hip-hop’s biggest mogul. While a follow-up abum to her smash ‘I Am...Sasha Fierce’ is planned, music isn’t Beyonce’s primary focus this year.

As the Ministry previously told you, she’s trying for an Oscar with a lead role in an update of ‘A Star Is Born,’ to be directed by Clint Eastwood.

Knowles will focus on the gospel acts at his company Music World Entertainment and managing Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles, according to Pop & HIss.
