Tony Hawk files for divorce from third wife, Lhotse Merriam

Tony Hawk is skating away from his third marriage after he and wife Lhotse Merriam filed for divorce after five years.

The skateboard pro filed for divorce from wife No. 3 in San Diego County on Friday.

Hawk, 42, and Merriam, 38, have one daughter together, 2-year-old Kadence Clover Hawk.

"We have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain deeply committed and loving parents to our daughter, and out of respect for that responsibility we ask that people honor our family's privacy during this important time of transition. Thank you for your understanding," the couple said in a joint statement to Us magazine.

Hawk married the lingerie store owner in 2006, two years after divorcing Erin Lee, whom he married in 1996, three years after he divorced  Cindy Dunbar, whom he married in 1990. Heck, even we can barely keep track.

Hawk put skateboarding on the map in the '90s and is staying in the limelight in this century with his Tony Hawk Pro Skater video games. His son Hudson "Riley" Hawk -- mom is wife No. 1 -- is a pro skater too.

All told, Hawk has a total of three wives and four kids.

Tony and Lhotse had an affair which led to the divorce from his second wife, Erin. And since 75% of marriages that start as affairs end in divorce, this was a long time coming.
