Willow Smith may be sweet on Daddy Warbucks -- or Daddy Will Smith -- now that papa Smith and Sony are exploring a remake of the classic musical ‘Annie.’

Is Willow Smith, the 10-year-old of ‘Whip My Hair’ fame, jumping on the daddy-make-me-a-movie bandwagon by starring in the musical? Yes, according to Variety -- and we’re not really surprised.

Her 12-year-old brother, Jaden, launched his film career last summer in the remake of ‘The Karate Kid,’ which was his parents produced. Natch.

Well, Will, now Willow wants a movie too. It’s just something you celebrity dads have to deal with. The pepperoni-loving tween is already walking red carpets and was recently profiled by Vanity Fair. It’s a hard knock life, we know.

The film will probably be produced by Overbrook Entertainment, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith‘s production company. Variety also reported that Jay-Z would oversee the music for the film via his label Roc Nation, which signed Willow.

The jury is still out on whether the redux would be contemporary or include the original songs. Last time we checked, Little Orphan Annie didn’t whip her hair back and forth. And we’re having a hard time believing that with Jay-Z on board, this project would be set in the same era as the tap-dancing, sweet-as-pie original.

We do know he’s no stranger to the hard knock life either.
