Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are over
Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal are reportedly over, you guys. Sadsies. Peel yourself off the floor and ask in harmony with us: How?! Why?!
"It ended last month," a source told People magazine of the fledgling romance, which frankly stunned us upon discovery in late October.
The two first surfaced at "Saturday Night Live," together backstage mingling with host Emma Stone and cast. The next day, they enjoyed a coffee date in Brooklyn near the home of Jake's sister Maggie.
Over Halloween, the two vacationed in Big Sur, indulging in an ice cream date and poolside lounging. Flash forward to Thanksgiving and it was another family affair with the Gyllenhaals in New York. The quality time ceased over the stars' respective December birthdays and during New Year's festivities.
No word on why they're dunzo, if in fact they're dunzo. Camps for both stars are mum.
What happened to the good times, Tay and Jake? And didn't Gwyneth Paltrow set y'all up? What about her feelings?

Come on, he was too old for her. She's 21 and he's 30. Nine years is a HUGE difference when you're that young. I'm not surprised it's over.

Hey, give it a rest. I am as shocked as anyone, but hey you can't accuse Taylor for breaking up with Jake. You don't know all the details. This was not Tay's man, but I hope she finds him soon;)

i think it has to do with the fact that Taylor is a career woman and her schedule is about to get crazy in a few months she has no time for a love life. she's young and having fun, dating is part of growing up, and she makes great songs, more POWER to her!!

I'm glad they broke up! Jake Gyllenhaal is wayyyyy to sexy for her! And besides this is what Taylor does. She dates guys, breaks up with them, then writes a song about it and makes millions. If anything, she just used him for money xD

I think that Jake broke it off with Taylor last month. Remember when the pictures of Jake and Taylor were taken in LA - Jake just got back from Australia. Jake called the cops on the paps... I think he broke up with her then. She flew in to LA they had their break up talk and she went back to Nashville.
I think he tried it, realized that she was too young - felt the age difference and called it quits. I also think that Reese's engagement had an effect on Jake. He was with her for almost three years and she didn't want to marry him. And yet, he's with Jim one year and they're engaged. That had to have sent a message to Jake as to why he's not perceived as the marrying type.
He's pushing 30 and has said that he wants a family and children. At this point, a 21 year old isn't going to get him near getting that accomplished. So, I think his next one will be closer to his age, his experience and his maturity level. Watch.

I think he's weird. He seems to "zone in" on someone with "all or nothing" speed. Ever since the break up with Reese, he wants "someone or anyone."
I don't know....for me its something about the eyes. Every since Brokeback Mountain, I won't watch his movies. And, NO I'm not homophobic, just don't like him.

Why does the Times run this unflattering photo of Swift looking as if she's ready to give Gyll oral work and Gyll giving a sort of sinister look? Your publication has done this before with their photos. Who is deciding the photos here? Try getting a female's perspective for a change; your readers would appreciate it.

This relationship was ill advised...Jake should no better and Taylor should be realistic...It is impossible for a girl of 21 to satisfy all the appetites of 30 year old man. If she were my daughter I would make it very clear how inappropriate his intentions are and insist that he leaves my daughter alone. I would use the Press to ensure that the desired outcome was attained. A parent needs to be ruthless to protect their child and I fear that Taylor's parents are incapable, due to her financial power and celebrity.
Im very shocked at how the US press called their relationship 'cute'. In Britain, Jake would have been seriously mocked
