Minka Kelly on her in-flight freakout (no, she didn’t call Derek Jeter)

Minka Kelly can take care of herself, thank you. The actress and ‘sexiest woman alive’ is finally addressing a rumor that she needed boyfriend Derek Jeter to talk her off a ledge last year when she reportedly had a meltdown on a Delta flight.

Kelly was allegedly told by flight staff that she couldn’t hold her dog during takeoff or landing. A witness said tears and screaming ensued, with Kelly calling her New York Yankee beau and asking him to reason with the staff and pilot.

‘Do people think that somewhere in my brain, I think Derek can save me from someone telling me my dog can’t fly?’ she tells GQ.

‘If that’s the way I worked, he would have left me a long time ago.’

Kelly will next be seen opposite Leighton Meester in the ‘Single White Female’-style college thriller ‘The Roommate.’

By the by, the magazine, in a long-lead-time panic, asked Kelly if she’d be married before issues hit stands.

‘I promise you,’ she said, ‘I’m not getting married in the next month.’
