While we’re sure Javier Bardem is jubilant over his dark horse best actor nod, and imagine Mila Kunis is dancing her own swan song after her Oscars snub — the Ministry can’t help but wince with happiness for Hailee Steinfeld.

The tough young thing in heritage gear more than held her own with Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges in the Coen Brothers’ nominated flick ‘True Grit.’

Over the past weeks of Golden Globes hoopla and much awards press, Steinfeld let it slip she had an awkward encounter with ‘Glee’ actress Lea Michele. When she was on the Paramount lot auditioning for the film that’s now given her a supporting actress nomination, Hailee asked Lea for an autograph and was denied.

‘I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by and a guy came and said, ‘Sorry, now’s not a good time!’ ‘ Steinfeld said in a magazine interview.

Michele quickly addressed the situation, saying, ‘The ‘Glee’ schedule is so jam-packed that the [production assistant] probably pulled me so that I wouldn’t be late to set. I never meant to hurt her feelings. She’s an extraordinary talent, and I look forward to meeting her one day.’

All’s well that ends well — but we dare say Steinfeld will get any autograph she wants now.
