David Arquette enters rehab; Courteney Cox supportive
David Arquette has entered a rehab facility for treatment of alcohol abuse and depression, it was widely reported Sunday.
The decision for treatment -- confirmed Monday by his rep, though with few details -- came on the heels of New Year's weekend, which saw Arquette wrapping up a difficult 2010 that included a separation from wife Courteney Cox and modified visitation with their daughter, Coco.
"I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life," Cox told People in a statement. "I love and support him."
Arquette's paradigm shift in lifestyle and behavior began almost immediately after the October split from his wife. The actor took up a resident gig with Las Vegas variety act Beacher's Madhouse, which opens to the public at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in February.
He also began partying heartily, relocated from the Malibu abode he shared with Cox to their centrally located West Hollywood digs, and even opened up about the onset of depression.
"I've been drinking a lot," Arquette confessed on Howard Stern's radio show in a rather attention-grabbing interview after his split when he admitted he was already sleeping with other people. Reports unanimously indicated that Arquette is not seeking drug-related treatment.

He's alone for the first time in more than 10 years! Of course he's drinking, what would you do?
