Will you brighten Wesley Snipes' prison Christmas? [poll]
Who wasn't touched by father-of-four Wesley Snipes' request to stay out of prison until January, because he's a father of four and the whole behind-bars thing would really mess up the holidays?
(OK, don't answer that. Not right now, at least. We haven't gotten to the poll yet.)
Because Snipes is apparently a man who values holiday cheer, the Ministry would like to provide contact information for anyone wishing to send him a Christmas card in federal prison.
Share the joy at:
Inmate No. 43355-018
McKean FCI

Just make sure you obey the rules regarding what you can send -- remember what happened when Lil Wayne got caught at Rikers Island with that "music contraband."

He's a great actor but he hasn't paid taxes in years! Really?

Isn't it amazing that the federal government wants to penalize some individual who hasn't paid taxes, but you have mortgage brokers and bankers who drove this country to the brink of financial disaster and not one has even been charged with breaking the law. Everybody jumps on the band wagon against Snipes' when the real problem is the law breaking going on that the federal government keeps ignoring. When are we as taxpayers (the clean up people) demand somebody be held responsible for this disaster they have cause. Wesley Snipes' might not have paid his taxes but I guarantee it hasn't caused me or you the problems that the banker and mortgage brokers have caused me. Focus people!

Wesley Snipes' if only your name were Charlie Rangel you would be a free man!!

I think his crime should go punished but not three years in jail. He could have done more good out of jail, working to pay it back and mentoring. The government can freeze every thing else, they could have frozen his assets and taken a percentage of his money each month until his debt was paid. Unfortunately, we keep falling for it and they keep doing it to us - enslavery. What about the real criminals who are still walking the streets because there's no "bed" for them? Lock them up in federal penitentiary minus the amenities!

Politicians are doing the same or worse and getting less or No time. I'm just sayin'.

Who cares!!! He should have thought about that when he wasn't paying his taxes. He should not get any special privelages. Should be treated just like any other person that did the crime.

I just want to say thanks first of for all that you contribute to the Vetrains of this country and that i feel very bad for you and your Family there is definently a tear in my hart for you and your family and i wish that they would not waist our tax money on putting good people in jail

Sorry to see Snipes in jail. IRS is brutal!!! They will stop at nothing to make a point and use tax money to do it. Dont try it!!! They will attack you, your family and do any thing they can to get you. Do not listen to "nonpayers" cause they are probably paying taxes on the funds they charge you. Want to live on the edge? Then go ahead. The IRS is a COMPANY charged with getting all the tax they can and they have unlimited resources to accomplish the task.

I can understand any parent wanting to be with their kids at Christmas, but something tells me this is just another way of his to stay out until his appeal gets here or at least draws closer.

congratulations!! Hope you enjoy your Christmas. Nothing for the best for all of YOU who think you are above the law.

You deserve it, pay your taxes like all of us Americans or get out (after your prison stay)

Christie D'Zurilla here from MOG with a gentle reminder that in general we don't publish comments that include links, addresses/phone numbers, or profanity/vulgarity.
Happily, that last one has not been an issue with this post! The first two, I simply don't have time to vet them all.
Thanks to all for reading and commenting!

I was not particularly touched because Wesley knew he had done wrong. He shoould have prepared his children for the day he would be taken away. He had plenty of time for that. It bothers me when someone knowlingly commits a crime and than wants people to have sympathy for them. I make very little money on SS and a part-time job still manage to pay all taxes. Everyone knows if they work they pay.

Happy Holidays to Everyone! It would be more wise and economical for the tax payers to let Mr. Wesley Snipes out with the conditions of paying the IRS what he owes "payment plan". Rather than tax payers having to support him behind bars which keeps him from his family and adds to the burden of our already weakened society.
Merry Holidays and Happy New Year....

If you break the law you should suffer the consequences, it's just a shame that Blacks have to suffer longer than others! The law isn't fair, white folks break just as many laws if not more but they do a WHOLE LOT LESS TIME THAN BLACKS!!!

Dear Wesley,
You are in my families thoughts and prayers not only just b/c it's Christmas, but b/c you do not deserve to be there at all in the first place. If Charlie Rangle & many many other so-called government officials can get away with BANKRUPTING OUR NATION and not have to spend 1 day in jail, then niether should you. I love your movies and I wish you well.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
PS: GIVE EM HELL WHEN YOU COME HOME!!!!

Sorry Mr. Wesley Snipes that you were not granted to have your sentence postponed until after the Christmas Holidays. I am going to guess that you are a member of the Republican Party, otherwise, I am almost sure that you would have been heard or maybe even had your sentence suspended, or simply thrown out of court. I remember that Martha Stewart was not granted forgives, and there are many others such as Geither, who did not get any time for unpaid taxes, and many others... Like a soldier that came back from serving his country, and he and his squadron were given the third degree search while at the airport upon their return home, where he stated: "What happened while we were gone?... I would answer: "lopsided and unfair justice" ...Please find comfort in that you will serve less time with good behavior and don't feel embittered, as it will make it feel worse and longer. Stay busy writing and reading and bein a good person. There are many fans that care about you and will pray for you and your family. God bless you and your family. Arlenice Carbajal

HI WESLEY, I'D LIKE TO TAKE THIS TIME TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO BE STRONG AND SEEK THE PEACE THAT ONLY JESUS CHRIST HAS TO OFFER. YOU HAVE ONLY TWO OPTIONS: BECOME EMBITTERED AND CRIMINAL; OR SURRENDER TO JESUS AND BE SET FREE. YOU COMMITTED A CRIME.WE ALL HAVE. FORGIVENESS,NOT RETRIBUTION, IS WHAT YOU SHOULD SEEK. ISN'T IT A SHAME THAT YOU ARE REALLY GUILTY OF STATUS RATHER THAN DEED. HAD YOU BEEN A MEMBER OF THE OBAMA CABINET, I WOULDN'T BE SENDING THIS.
YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS; GOD BLESS YOU,
JOHN

The rich in this country just keep getting richer. Let the poor pay all the taxes. God help them if they don't.

Hello Wesley
I met you briefly in Memphis & shook your hand at the Lewis v Tyson fight, if you have access to TBN or a prison ministry my prayer is that you will tap into them to encourage yourself. As Don King once said he made the time serve him instead of serving the time.
May God bless you (and your family), and keep you (and your family), and cause His face to shine upon you (and your family), and give you (and your family) peace during this season of your lives, in Jesus name. Amen.
Wesley; wishing you every blessing of His love this Christmas and in the new year.
