Hollywood power couple Scarlett Johannson and Ryan Reynolds are getting a divorce.
‘After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love, and it’s with love and kindness we leave it,’ the couple said Tuesday in a joint statement.
‘While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.’
A rumor of their rift came just before the official announcement, as a source told Us Weekly, ‘They spent a lot of time apart when they are working ... [Johansson] has been unhappy for a while.’
The pair, married in September 2008, have notoriously been private about their relationship and rarely made appearances together for work or play. The couple purchased a $2.8-million home together roughly four months ago.
The Us report insists they are ‘being very civil about it.’
