Rihanna and Dodgers' Matt Kemp call it quits, split

Rihanna and Matt Kemp have reportedly broken up -- ending a relationship that the singer often insisted was just a fun thing, and allowing the Dodgers faithful to indulge in some wishful thinking that the center fielder's performance might improve next season without RiRi as a distraction.

The couple, who were together for almost a year, called it quits in recent weeks due to geographical incompatibility and because, well, she "basically was just over it," a source told Us Magazine, which first reported the news.

"He just can't keep up with her crazy travel schedule," said the source, adding that Kemp "wants something more normal."

Well, Rihanna was too busy to make it to BFF Katy Perry's India wedding to Russell Brand in October. How much room could there be for someone she was just "having fun" with?

And honestly, it's a nice breather from all those celebs getting engaged in recent days. Two more back on the market for the rest of us ...
