Paging Dr. Oz -- one of Oprah‘s anointed ones has taken ill. Lifestyle whiz Nate Berkus was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday with a case of appendicitis.

‘He was on the ‘Today’ show this morning, and he wasn’t feeling well,’ a rep for ‘The Nate Berkus Show’ told People. ‘He powered through and then went straight to the hospital after that and they learned he had appendicitis.’

Berkus’ handlers were aware of the illness, but the designer insisted on making his appearance. ‘I don’t think people realized how ill he was,’ his rep said.

Physicians anticipate a quick recovery after Berkus, 39, undergoes an appendectomy. His afternoon design show has postponed two tapings, but he’s expected back at work next week.
