Michael C. Hall divorce has him alone among fellow Golden Globe nominees
The Michael C. Hall divorce plans announced just ahead of the "Dexter" actor's Golden Globe nomination Tuesday finds him the lone nominee in his category without a long-term partner lined up to walk the red carpet.
"Boardwalk Empire" star Steve Buscemi has been married to Jo Andres since 1987. They have a son, Lucian, born in 1990.
Bryan Cranston of "Breaking Bad" met second wife Robin Dearden when she made an appearance on his 1984-87 show "Airwolf." Daughter Taylor was born in 1993.
Hugh Laurie has been married to Jo Green since 1989, with sons Charlie and Bill born in 1988 and '89 and a daughter, Rebecca, arriving in 1993.
And though his "Mad Men" character is gearing up for a second trip to the altar, Jon Hamm has never been married, though he and actress Jennifer Westfeldt have been together for more than a decade.
"I don't have the marriage chip," Hamm told Parade in July.
Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, his wife of two years, play brother and sister on the Showtime series. He was nominated Tuesday for best television actor in a drama, the category he won in 2010. Reps confirmed their plan to split, saying the two have been "separated for some time."
Hall rallied against cancer last year to take home his trophy; comparatively, divorce should be a breeze.

Why should it matter that MCH will not have someone on his arm when he walks the red carpet? Who the heck cares. He's an amazing actor and deserves his nomination. And, divorce being a "breeze?" What souless thing to suggest. Each experience in life bring its own level of happiness or misery. I wouldn't begin to judge this one. This is a really stupid article.

A breeze? really? this bit of gossip really doesn't belong in a major daily. write something that honors these folks for providing high quality entertainment and leave the judge-y relationship junk in the trash bin. yeesh

I'm sure that when Hall was going through his cancer treatment he was thinking, "If I can only hold on until awards season." And now he's haunted by the prospect of walking the red carpet alone. I agree with the "stupid" comment above; find something real to write about.

Interesting. He marries a much younger co-star--probably because he's smitten--she sees him through cancer and then he has a mid-life crisis a bit ahead of schedule (having survived cancer) and dumps her for another co-star, Julia Styles. One only had to watch the intensity with which he performed with her character during the fifth season of Dexter--that and the near lack of emotion he displayed toward his "sister Deb" the amazing Jennifer Carpenter. I feel badly for her in all of this. Yes, MCH is amazing--I've followed him from Six Feet Under to Dexter, but he may also be part of that narcissistic breed of male that believes it's always about him. His wife--who was clearly in love with him--didn't deserve to be kicked aside once the cancer was gone and a newer, more "inspirational" co-star came along. Beware Julia--after a few seasons, he may move on with someone else. In fact, may need the infusion of a new romance to take his acting to these mega-star heights.

wow, reading a certain comment on here, there are some bitter, unhappy women in this world.
as to the news, well, it`s the guys personal life so it shouldn`t be reported on anyway, but as long as it dosen`t affect his Dexter work that`s fine. we don`t know the ins and outs of what`s going on, so to judge from behind a keyboard with cynical nasty words is a pretty easy thing to do.

I feel so so sad for michael c hall and jennifer carpenter; they really were so perfect together. They are both very strong people and I loved how they liked to keep their lives private-they really seemed like soul mates and I hope they don't go through with it!!!!!
