Candace Cameron of 'Full House' reveals bulimia struggle

December 31, 2010 | 10:41 am

Candace Cameron Bure of Full House Candace Cameron of "Full House" has a confession to make -- the child star battled bulimia after her run on the hit sitcom.

Coming in the wake of news of the troubling death of Isabelle Caro, 28, a French model who grappled with severe anorexia, that's two strikes in the bad body image department just shy of Jan. 1, a day notoriously associated with weight loss resolutions.

"It's a very dangerous cycle that can just start to consume your life and really take over," Cameron told People magazine, promoting her new book "Reshaping It All."

Following the success of the family show, Cameron -- the younger sister of "Growing Pains" star Kirk Cameron --  binged and purged in a battle she called "emotional," as opposed to one fought to maintain her figure.

She credits her husband, NHL player Valeri Bure, and their life together as crucial in overcoming the disorder.
