Bristol Palin has danced into the ranks of homeownership, buying a five-bedroom, 3,900-square-foot house in Maricopa, Ariz., south of Phoenix, for $172,000.

The house, built and sold in 2006 for almost $330,000, went into foreclosure in January, the Arizona Republic reports. Palin, 20, bought it this month from intermediary owners who’d picked up the property as an investment for a little over $137,000.

Bristol finished third on the most recent cycle of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ behind winner Jennifer Grey and runner-up Kyle Massey. A beginning dancer, she was buoyed for weeks by fan support, inspiring many people to finally learn how the voting on that show works.

She has an Arizona connection through her mom, Sarah Palin, who was selected by Arizona Sen. John McCain as his running mate in the 2008 presidential campaign. It’s not clear whether the home will be her full-time residence, or just a place that’s warmer than Alaska.

In one ‘DWTS’ segment, she told partner Mark Ballas during a visit to Alaska that she preferred her home state to Los Angeles.
