Brett Favre won’t be suspended by the NFL, but he was fined $50,000 on Wednesday for essentially failing to put out for a league investigation, the Fabulous Forum reports.

During the probe into allegations that Favre sent X-rated pictures and text messages to smokin’ hot sideline personality Jenn Sterger in 2008, the Minnesota Vikings quarterback was ‘not candid in several respects during the investigation, resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, Sterger and the NFL,’ the league said in a statement.

With its current evidence -- apparently there were problems scheduling interviews with ‘certain key individuals,’ and forensic analysis of electronic records was indecisive -- the NFL ‘could not conclude’ whether Favre had sent unwanted come-ons and pictures of his penis to Sterger in 2008. Pictures surfaced in October on the website Deadspin, which had alluded to their existence for months after a chat with Sterger around the time of this year’s Super Bowl. Favre and Sterger were both interviewed by the league, which said it focused only on whether the quarterback violated workplace-conduct policy, not on making ‘judgments about the appropriateness of personal relationships.’ Both parties were New York Jets employees in 2008. Sterger more recently co-hosted ‘The Daily Line’ on the Versus sports channel; the show was canceled in early November due to bad ratings.

Media reports that Favre also hit on two massage therapists who worked with the team in 2008 could not be substantiated, the NFL said, because people with ‘potentially relevant information’ declined to be interviewed or to cooperate with investigators.
