Anne Hathaway was mum at the Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday night in New York when asked for details about her just-announced gig hosting the Academy Awards on Feb. 27.

Well, almost mum.

‘I can probably let slip that I’m terrified,’ she said.

Though feature-film winner ‘Winter’s Bone’ was the star of the night, the red carpet was packed with stars of its own, including a healthy showing of ‘Black Swan’ ladies such as Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Winona Ryder and Barbara Hershey.

Longtime indie-film supporter Hilary Swank and her ‘Conviction’ costar Sam Rockwell were there, as well as Bill Murray, Harvey Keitel, honoree Robert Duvall, Julianna Margulies, Steve Buscemi, Leighton Meester, Amber Tamblyn and Paul Rudd, to name a few.

Also spotted: Co-hosts Stanley Tucci, most recently of ‘Burlesque,’ and Patricia Clarkson, the latter of whom would later call out on stage for the ‘so hot’ Mark Ruffalo. Cool the jets, Patricia -- Mr. So Hot, a.k.a. Mr. Watch List, was indeed there with wife Sunrise Coigney, not to mention ‘The Kids Are All Right’ costars Annette Bening and Julianne Moore. Click the pic of Coigney and Ruffalo above to launch a gallery from the red carpet.

Also, in the interest of fending off any looming terror, we hope Hathaway introduced herself to ‘Winter’s Bone’ actors John Hawkes, Lauren Sweetser and Dale Dickey, and took a few notes when they named the top feature film. Last year’s winner, after all, was ‘The Hurt Locker,’ which eventually wound up snagging best picture at the Academy Awards.

Think of it as rehearsal.
