Mega stars turn out for Spike TV’s Scream Awards 2010

Though merely misty at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre on Saturday, it was raining celebs for Spike TV’s Scream Awards -- an annual celebration of creepy, cringe-worthy and fanboy fare.

Backed by a massive outdoor set inspired by Christopher Nolan‘s ‘Inception,’ tons of bold-face names came to present and claim trophies as well as to unveil new footage from upcoming films.

In a tiny gold cocktail dress, Halle Berry opened the show by introducing Nolan, who scooped up several statuettes for his Leonardo DiCaprio-led flick.

Fan legends Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox appeared (yes, the DeLorean was there too) to salute the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise, which is marking its 25th anniversary with a DVD release and some interesting footage of Eric Stoltz as the original Marty McFly.

Also there from the A-list: ‘Silence of the Lambs’ star Anthony Hopkins on behalf of his new movie ‘The Rite,’ Bill Murray for ‘Ghostbusters’ and director James Cameron, who presented a prize to longtime alien butt-kicker Sigourney Weaver. (Click on the picture of Weaver and Cameron above to launch a gallery of pictures from the event.) ‘We have Oscar-caliber talent here,’ said executive producer Casey Patterson, ‘but what are we going to do for these fans? Go to the Kodak [Theater]? We produce this like a rock show.’

Rock out is what musical guest M.I.A. did, with a DayGlo-heavy performance featuring dozens of zombie-like extras.

The green room at the Greek was wall-to-wall with young stars including Kristen Stewart, looking chic in a black and white mini chatting up costars Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone, alongside fellow fanged clan members from ‘The Vampire Diaries’ -- Paul Wesley, Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder.

Dimension Films head Bob Weinstein showed to celebrate Wes Craven and the cast of his ‘Scream 4,’ including Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Emma Roberts.

Elsewhere, Blake Lively chatted up her ‘Green Lantern’ lead Ryan Reynolds, Don Cheadle watched the show from a red leather booth and Marilyn Manson wandered freely to and from the open bar. Mickey Rourke taped an interview backstage after greeting his ‘Passion Play’ costar Megan Fox, there with her husband, Brian Austin Green.

‘True Blood’ newlyweds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were inseparable, enjoying cocktails with Alexander Skarsgard. Nordic blond Skarsgard had a repeat of his Friday night in that he was always proximate to, but never speaking with, rumored love Kate Bosworth.

Catch the Scream Awards when they air on Spike TV this coming Tuesday for even more names, including Sarah Silverman, Aaron Eckhart, Alison Brie and Kristin Bauer.
