Gavin Rossdale has finally addressed rumors about his relationship with a cross-dresser named Marilyn, saying the two had a one-time encounter when he was 17.

Gwen Stefani‘s husband opened up to Details magazine about the long-rumored connection with the singer in lady gear, a.k.a. Peter Robinson. Robinson’s account of their relationship first surfaced in 1995, and then again in 2009.

‘When you’re 17, Jesus Christ. I don’t think there’s anything strange about any form of — you’re learning about life. It’s a part of growing up,’ said the former frontman for the rock band Bush.

Robinson claims the affair went on as long as five years, though Rossdale maintains the two were intimate on only one occasion.
