David Arquette might be a little immature for Courteney Cox? What, did the pro wrestling give him away?

In case you were thinking David Arquette and Courteney Cox were a match made to last, check out the video above, in which one of the spouses definitely acts a bit like the parent of the other spouse.

One thing about a guy who’s been a wrestling world champion -- nobody should really be that shocked when he goes on Howard Stern‘s radio show and talks about no, not having sex with his wife for months, and yes, having sex with a bartender during that time. Even when that broadcast comes the day after ‘sources close to’ the husband and wife leak that divorce isn’t necessarily a given.

(Why do we have this weird feeling that the rapper incarnation of Joaquin Phoenix is going to pop up soon, a la Chris Matthews on ‘To Catch a Predator,’ just to monitor Arquette’s separation progress?)

For those unfamiliar with Arquette’s wrestling past, we present a video below of the ‘Ready to Rumble’ actor’s WCW World Championship win in an April 2000 match against Jeff Jarrett,

Eric Bischoff and ‘RTR’ costar Diamond Dallas Page, which launched a reign that lasted less than two weeks. ‘There’s no point pretending that ‘Ready to Rumble’ isn’t completely juvenile and mindless,’ Salon’s reviewer said at the time. We’d also like to mention that the flick’s star wrestler, admired by Arquette’s slacker character, was played not by a noted bad-boy action star but rather by the established character thespian Oliver Platt.

Roger Ebert noted Platt’s role ‘would have been better filled by a real wrestler.’

The WCW was absorbed by the WWE a little under a year later.
