David Arquette has apologized for blabbing too much information on Howard Stern‘s radio show Tuesday, but it’s not exactly clear to whom he’s apologizing.

Arquette on Tuesday shared the family-friendly details that he and wife Courteney Cox hadn’t had sex in months — it went public Monday that they’re separated — and, more specifically, that they hadn’t had sex together in months, but that he and bartender Jessica Waltz had rocked a little sumpin’ sumpin’ at least once once, maybe twice.

‘I went on Howard Stern yesterday to provide clarity and honesty about what I’m experiencing but while doing that I shared too much ... it’s alright for me to be honest about my own feelings but in retrospect some of the information I provided involved others and for that I am sorry and humbled. Life is a process of spiritual evolution,’ Arquette wrote on his Twitter page. ‘I’m sure Courteney and myself will emerge from this painful time better people for what we’ve learned.’

So the wife of 11 years can’t be happy, clearly, because who wants to be known as the partner who

won’t put out? But Waltz is also miffed, with TMZ reporting that she’s telling her friends Arquette’s once-or-twice claim is, ahem, a bit of an understatement. So we can’t help but wonder whose information he’s sorry for outing. You know that old courtroom-drama staple, ‘You can’t unring a bell’? We’re not sure the jury will be able to disregard this witness’ statement.
