‘American Idol’ star Crystal Bowersox married musician Brian Walker on Sunday in Chicago in front of about 60 guests, after short engagement -- and the bride wore hemp.

‘I can’t believe how incredibly lucky we are to have found so much laughter, love, and light within each other,’ the most recent ‘Idol’ runner-up told People magazine. ‘We’re one happy WalkerSox family.’

Walker and Bowersox, who met six years ago, announced their engagement in September; on Sunday, in line with her Bohemian style, the 25-year-old wore a gown made of hemp and cotton with macrame, seashell and bead details by designer Tara Lynn, People said.

Bowersox, nicknamed ‘MamaSox’ during the competition in which she finished second behind Lee DeWyze, split with then-boyfriend Tony Kusian on the morning of the May 25 ‘Idol’ season finale performance show.

‘He wasn’t cool with the lifestyle,’ Bowersox told Ryan Seacrest at the time. ‘I didn’t break up with him ... it was a mutual thing.’

[For the record, 2:43 p.m.: An earlier version of this post referred to Kusian as the father of Bowersox’s son. He is not. Thanks to commenters @Kash and @faith for flagging the gaffe.]

Her son, Tony, now 1½, was the ring bearer at the wedding Sunday.
