'Black Swan' premiere: Natalie Portman ballet film opens the Venice Film Festival [pictures]
Things got glamorous in Italy on Wednesday, with Natalie Portman attending the world premiere of "Black Swan" to kick off the 67th Venice Film Festival and Jessica Alba walking the red carpet for "Machete," which had its world premiere recently in downtown L.A.
"Black Swan" stars Portman as a driven ballerina determined to nab the top spot as her troupe's star steps down. It opens Dec. 1 in the U.S.
Rounding out the opening-night slate was the Chinese film "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen," which like "Machete" was screening out of competition.
