Star sightings: Happy birthday, Taraji P. Henson; happy anniversary Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy

September 14, 2010 |  3:29 pm

IMG_5800-109 "The Karate Kid" reboot star Taraji P. Henson celebrated her birthday at Brent Bolthouse's hot spot Trousdale this past Saturday.

The star sipped Ciroc cocktails with famous pals including Drake, Mary J. Blige, Tyrese Gibson, Regina King and music honcho Jimmy Iovine.

From the VIP lounge to the trenches of the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival, the Ministry is happy to bring some couples news amid the glossy premieres and parties.

Freida Pinto and Dev Patel, whose on-set romance springing from "Slumdog Millionaire" is still going strong, popped into Toronto to promote her Weinstein Co.-acquired flick "Miral," directed by Julian Schnabel, one of two Pinto films screening during the festival ("You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" is the other). Fashion house Tod's threw a swanky dinner party for the filmmakers and cast.

Far from the Hollywood bustle were longtime couple Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy. The pair sneaked away last week to the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico to celebrate ...

... their wedding anniversary.

With their two kids in tow, Huffman and Macy enjoyed three days in the Presidential Suite, with a private pool and on-call butler. The couple enjoyed private time with hour-long couples massages and family time by the pool and on the beach. Huffman will next gear up for the seventh season premiere of "Desperate Housewives."

Back in Los Angeles, stars enjoyed Fashion's Night Out -- like svelte-again Sara Rue, who hit the Beverly Center for a mall-wide fashion show. Rue, sipping a Ty Ku cocktail, mingled with the likes of West Coast Vogue editor Lisa Love and presenter Louise Roe.

Over on Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa hit up the Rock & Republic boutique where he rubbed elbows with actress Natasha Henstridge.

On Sunday, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino really hit it off with "The Hills" star Audrina Patridge. The two met at In Touch Weekly's Icons & Idols post-VMA bash at Bar Marmont. They immediately connected, an onlooker said, and Sorrentino was flashing his abs in no time.
