Lady Gaga goes Lady Liberty with Marc Jacobs
Iconic pop star, iconic statue -- Lady Gaga was bound to interpret New York City's Lady Liberty at some point.
With designer Marc Jacobs, whose clothes she frequently dons via his eponymous collection or his work at the house of Louis Vuitton, Gaga covers this month's V Magazine in a salute to NYC.
"Just as the Statue of Liberty was France's gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York's greatest gift to pop culture and fashion," editor Stephen Gan said.
This will mark Gaga's second V cover in a year, the first a tan-tastic collaboration with Mario Testino (who also shot the current cover).

I think Gaga is overrated, not iconic. Especially not when using too many ideas and styles from others.
She is a good singer (if one likes that genre, I don't) and that's about it.
