Sandra Bullock is currently the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, having pulled in $56 million between June 2009 and June 2010, Forbes reports.
Tens of millions of dollars away in second place, it was a tie: Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz each earned about $32 million for the year. Jennifer Aniston came in fourth at $27 million, and Sarah Jessica Parker notched in fifth at $25 million.
Bullock pulled in the bucks largely from “The Proposal” and “The Blind Side.” On the latter, she cut her asking price, earned an Oscar and took home a sizable chunk of the $320-million box-office take, according to Forbes.

... that BP money was indirectly behind its Gulf Coast restoration PSA, which prominently features Bullock. The actress on Friday requested she be pulled from the video “until the facts can be determined” about funding for the awareness campaign and accompanying petition drive. An excerpt from the WOTS statement:
Women of the Storm is supported through contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. The organization has never received direct funding from any oil company or from America’s Wetland Foundation. While America’s Wetland Foundation is a strategic partner, it has no influence on development of Women of the Storm’s strategy, content, publications or projects. We simply share the goal of drawing attention to coastal restoration. Women of the Storm is not asking for, nor does it expect, American taxpayers to pay for damage caused by other parties to the gulf, its coastline or wetlands. Our petition does not specify a public or private funding source, only that we request a restoration plan to be funded and implemented.

The editorial board of the New Orleans Times-Picayune has also written in favor of the effort, calling Women of the Storm “tireless champions of New Orleans’ recovery” and saying that DeSmogBlog “has it wrong”; that blog, which says it is dedicated to “clearing the PR pollution that clouds climate science,” sparked the controversy when a contributor saw BP listed as a sponsor of AWF, and AWF named as an affiliate of WOTS, and tagged the celeb-laden PSA as an “age-old PR trick” to shift responsibility from oil companies to the U.S. taxpayer.
An e-mail seeking further comment from Bullock’s camp was not returned.
