Michael Douglas confirms throat tumor, will undergo chemo
Michael Douglas has a tumor in his throat and will undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy, his rep tells People.
Doctors recently discovered the mass in the film star's throat, his representative said. A full recovery is expected.
"I am very optimistic," Douglas said in a statement.
It's been a tumultuous year for the actor, whose son Cameron was sentenced in May to five years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of heroin and distribution of crystal meth.
Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, will next be seen in Oliver Stone's "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," which premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival in May and was set to open in U.S. theaters Sept. 24.

Hello, Michael
I am a 7 year survivor of throat cancer. Unfortunity, my best fiend just passed away last December after a year long battle with this. He and I spent long hours laughing, crying and praying about life. I was blessed to have him as a freind. The one thing that comes into clear focus when one goes through such an ordeal, is that the only true important things in life are: Your Faith, Your Family, and Your Friends, everything else is Bull!! My family and I hope and pray that w your battle with this victorious. It will not be easy and there will be bad days(especially the radiation)but, this is beatable.
Take Care
